Mobile Homes in Fields

Q: the council said we cant build on it but we have found on your website that we might be able to put mobile home on it, but we need a second opinion. because the information on the deed sounds like we can do anything on it.

A: if it’s an open field and you want to site and mobile homes AND use it residentially, you will still need planning…

Q: I am located in Winkfield near Windsor, we have a small paddock area and are interested in knowing if there is any chance we could build a mobile/ caravan home on it.

A: if it’s an open field and you want to site and mobile homes AND use it residentially, you will still need planning… you can site a mobile home anywhere if it is incidental to the use of the land, so if the plot is a field and you site a caravan for farming use, then no change of use or development will have occurred and you will not need planning. If however, you change the use of the land, by using a caravan for residential use, then you will need planning.

I suggest you contact the council and get pre planning advise from them instead of a consultant, it’s far more accurate and useful… you will need planning permission for the paddock but asking anyone other than the Council you will only get speculative answers, go for pre planning advice
